Murfreesboro, Tennessee — January 30, 2017 — The Business Education Partnership Foundation will host the inaugural BEP Mini Masters Indoor Mini Golf Tournament from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 2nd at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.
According to BEP Executive Director Amelia Bozeman, the BEP Mini Masters event will provide a tongue-in-cheek take on the actual Masters Tournament with not-so-subtle Caddyshack overtones. “We are excited to announce the 2017 BEP Mini Masters. We are thankful to partner with Bridgestone and the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund once again for this fun event. Bridgestone has been active in supporting our programs that help students connect the classroom to careers, especially with our STEMEx summer camp,” she said.
Sean Kelley, plant manager at Bridgestone’s LaVergne facility, said, “We are proud to partner with the BEP and be a sponsor of the Mini Masters tournament again this year. We had a great time last year competing and collaborating with other industries in our community. As I have said before, I have always been passionate about education, and Bridgestone’s culture continues to support that passion. Education is one of the three major focus points of the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund. We look forward to being the presenting sponsor of this event for the 2nd straight year which will support the BEP programs in Rutherford County. Bridgestone doesn’t just build tires, we build relationships.”
BEP advisory board member and Mini Masters event chair Tara Stone is an enthusiastic supporter of the organization. “The Business Education Partnership Foundation plays an important role in our children’s education. BEP enriches both the Murfreesboro City and the Rutherford County School Systems through programs that connect academics to the real world and help prepare students for their future careers. The BEP Mini Masters is a fun opportunity to support the organization that benefits students throughout our county.”
The event concept proved to be a hit with the inaugural BEP Mini Masters, held in 2016. Golf hole sponsors are invited to decorate their holes to promote their businesses and compete for the “best design” trophy. “Our golf hole sponsors have been creative and clever. We can’t wait to see our sponsors’ designs; rumor has it that Hole #12 from Augusta will make yet another appearance in 2017,” Bozeman said.
In addition to 18 holes of putt-putt fun on three floors of the Chamber building, the BEP Mini Masters will feature Masters-themed food on a “mini” scale and suds from beverage sponsor Panther Creek Brews.
A limited number of team registrations ($200 per foursome) and hole sponsorships ($300) are available. “Gallery” tickets are available for $25 each; gallery ticket holders will be treated to food and drinks as they watch the competition.
Proceeds from the Mini Masters will benefit BEP’s programs that support students, teachers, and counselors in the Murfreesboro City and Rutherford County School Systems.
