Camp M.D. Presented by Saint Thomas Rutherford is a summer day camp that introduces students to different careers in healthcare. Camp M.D. will include tours of local medical facilities and interactive discussions with healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, medical assistants, lab technologists, researchers, and therapists). Students will also participate in hands-on healthcare activities at Middle Tennessee State University, Motlow State Community College, and Tennessee College of Applied Technology with introductions to curriculum for healthcare related programs at each institution.
Camp M.D. Presented by Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital is scheduled for June 18th – 22nd (Monday – Friday), from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Camp will meet at varying locations each day. Drop-off and pickup points will include Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, TriStar StoneCrest Hospital, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, MTSU, and Tennessee College of Applied Technology. The generosity of sponsors such as Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital enables BEP to offer this camp tuition-free.
BEP’s Camp M.D. is a fun, interactive introduction to the world of healthcare which will provide students with valuable information that will enable them to pursue the education necessary for careers in all levels of healthcare. The camp is open to rising sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students, and applications for camp will be made available on Thursday, January 25.
